Homemade Star Trek Backpack

I saw the backpack tutorial at Hart and Sew.
I immediately knew that I have to make
a backpack for my son.

My 5 years old boy requested me to make Star Trek backpack
for him.
So he chose 3 fabrics by himself and
it turned out really cute.

The tutorial is very easy to follow.
One thing I did differently was that I cut the straps from
an old backpack and reuse it.

Check the photos and Enjoy!

Handmade Tote Bags {Pictures}

Handmade Tote Bags
I made my first tote bag and my daughter claimed this bag.

 Colorful tote bag
My daughter claimed this tote bag as well.

Made a tote bag for my niece
My niece requested for a bow and ruffles.

Made a tote bag for myself finally

I made those fabric flowers with buttons
The tote bag was given to my sister Julie.

My sister Lisa requested me to make eggs and bacon tote bag
So I made one for her. Yep it looks like a face.

I taught my niece how to sew a tote bag
and that is her first tote bag.
Proud Aunt here!

While I teach my niece how to sew
and I sew too. The tote bag was given to my niece.

Close up of a ribbon flower I made.

DIY- Summer Picnic Dress

I made a Summer Picnic dress for my girl. The free pattern
Summer Picnic Dress Pdf pattern I used from The Cottage Home Blogspot
and it includes a great tutorial.
I didn't do the top-stitch since I didn't have enough time yesterday.
I made the dress for my daddy's 60th birthday party.

For next time I will use another method with the ruffles on the bottom.
I would gather ruffles by the hand, not the sewing machine.
However the summer dress turned out cute.

DIY- Toddler Jacket

I finally added a white anchor button to the jacket.
Here are some pictures of the jacket with a lovely white anchor button.

I couldn't pick one picture.
Too cute not to share all of the pictures.
My daugther Gisele kept on saying "Bird! Bird! Bird!"
Blue Jay bird was interrupting our photo session ha!

Last night I made another jacket~
Pink tweed fabric with Purple lining
{Those fabrics I got from a thrift store for free!!}

DIY- Adorable Ruffle Pants

Found a twin flat sheet for $1 at my favorite thrift store

I used my daughter's capris pants

Fold the flat sheet 1/4

Trace the capris pant and make sure there are enough room so you
can sew them together

Cut it out

That should look like this

Fold the sheet 1/4 again,
Trace it again and
cut it out so now you have two fabrics

Sew on the top to the end of crotch part. Check next picture

Sew the bottom of one leg, sew up to the crotch part then back down the other leg

This is important to remember!!
Don't forget to leave the opening
so you can insert the elastic band.

Sew end of the elastic band together

Finally it's completed.
See it's not that hard.
When you sew more pants and it will be very quick.
Sorry it's not a great picture of pants on her.
She won't pose a picture for me but this picture will do just fine.
